The Package
Summary of continuity: Breaking Continuity can question the film making but good continuity gets the audience enthralled.
Continuity: The continuity of our short is very fluent. Shots flow well together. There is a few continuity errors but nothing too major. For example there is a shot when I'm in the reflection of Robert's sunglasses. You can see that error when the video is at 15 seconds. Also at 25 seconds the continuity between shots doesn't match too well. And at 1:27 Leonie's legs are in shot when they aren't meant to. And at 1:03 we slightly break the 180 degree rule. We could control these error's and we didn't notice these until after shooting. The error we couldn't control was after 36 seconds when it went from foggy to sunny. This was because we didn't have enough time to re-shoot and the fog opened up the short so wonderfully. Apart from that everything else is good. Even though there is a few continuity errors nothing is overly obvious and all the shots flow well and fit nicely together even if there is minor errors. Especially the cut at 38 seconds.
An example of a continuity error. If you look closely you can see me in shot.

Summary of Mise-En-Scene: Everything that goes into the scene. For example lighting, costumes and location.
Mise-En-Scene: The Mise-En-Scene of our scene is very distinctive. Robert wears a black costume showing this authority and a higher class and Mikey wears clothing that a normal person would wear which shows his slightly lower class. Also at the beginning the fog shows the mysteriousness of this meeting. The green containers have a run down look to them. So the location suits the tone well. The fog gave the opening a foreboding look which built the tension in the scene. This made the short unpredictable and mysterious.
This shot summarises the costumes of the Mise-En-Scene. The two drastically different costumes giving the hint that these character's are from different backgrounds.
This is a good example of Mise-En-Scene as it sets up the tone of the short. Especially with Robert being obscured by mist.

Summary of Camera work: A range of techniques used with the camera to create tone, or to make an artistic or realistic look.
Camera Work: We had a great range of shots including an extreme long shot used for the opening Establishing Shot. A high angle shot to establish the introduction of Robert's character walking in. A low angle shot and an extreme close up on Robert's sunglasses to show mysteriousness of Robert's character. There is great use of a close up to show the top half of Robert's body as he takes off his sunglasses. And there is a great use of a long shot to show Robert looking at the container and then he begins to walk. This shows a closer look of the location. There is another great use of long shot when both characters meet up. It's shown in one shot. Robert walking into frame and stopping and then Mikey who was already in frame walks towards him. Close up and shot reverse shots are used to great effect in this part. To show the uneasiness of the whole meeting. And once the meeting is over there is a great low angle shot of Mikey showing that he is in power now. Later on towards the end there is a great use of a POV shot of Mikey opening the briefcase. And then there is a brilliant extreme close up of Mikey smiling.

Examples of Camera shots that stood out.
Sound: There isn't a great range of sound in 'The Package'. However there are a few significant pieces of sound throughout. For example there is ambient noise playing in the background throughout the whole short. This works to great effect as it makes the area seem lovely when it is empty for the whole short. With bird tweets and plenty of other sounds. Footsteps are used when Robert walks through the gate. They are well synched to the feet moving in the image. And during the meeting this tense yet unusual piece of music plays. With deep piano chimes and drastic low and high notes. This creates a dark and unsettling atmosphere. And once the bag is handed over to Mikey the music drastically stops in the middle of a note showing the drasticness of the meeting.
