Ideas
- Young people
- College students
- Political views of young people
- Young independent filmmakers
- Young artists
- Young musicians
- Outside life of college
- The struggles of a young person
The idea I believe that would be the best would be young independent filmmakers.
I'd structure it with interviews of young filmmakers I know. It would start with one of the interviewees talking about what got them into film making and why they want to make films. I would include clips of a shoot with overlapping audio from the interviews. It gives the three minute wonder a more epic scale. We aren't restricted just to the inside of a studio.
The style of the 3 minute wonder will be similar to the look of film fours Self Portrait series. It will allow me to film multiple filmmakers. It will give the audience a nice look into why young people want to make films. Despite low money, lack of crew etc However the addition of clips will give the short a lot more scope.
My target audience will be young people around 16-24. Which is the age people start to experiment with film making. Secondary audiences can be any age. Over 24 or under 16. This can be viewed by anyone who has an interest in film. And even if someone doesn't it will show them a different art form.
I aim to make this so that people who aren't confident can improve their skills. I want it to branch out to tell people who are struggling to make films that they can do it. No matter where you are. You should use anything you have. Be that their small town or village etc.
If I were to film it would be at the college and wherever the filmmakers would be filming. So mainly the Yarmouth/Norwich area. As that is the usual locations of many filmmakers I know.
I could do the production by myself, but as I am thinking of interviewing filmmakers I could ask them to help me out as they would know how to work with camera equipment.
Example questions.
- What got you into film making?
- Who is your biggest inspiration?
- What struggles do you run across?
- What are you most proud of?
- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I have a camera and tripod. I would have to use a mic, however I can use one from the college. And lighting is always in the college studio. I will not use props as I want this to be quite natural and not narrative driven. The only props that will be seen are ones in short films.
The proposed budget may be about twenty pounds for me to get to different places to film the shoots. And to get myself lunch. However the film makers will not charge me.
