Laura's initial idea was a western take on a modern tone, the sepia look and drastic extreme close ups gave it this very modernized take on a Western. For example car's would have been like horses etc. Almost similar to how Baz Lurman made Romeo and Juliet.
Dean came up with a comedy. A Q&A when we would interview people around the college. Similar to comedies like Borat. Where Dean would ask people random questions for comedic effect. So the camera work would be naturalistic and it would all be improved.
My initial idea was something of an action film. Very saturated colours. Fast paced editing, like something out of an a Edgar Wright film. With whip pans etc. It would probably have had a Bad Boys feel when it wouldn't take itself too seriously and it was high octane. But we probably wouldn't of been able to pull it off.
We combined all of our initial ideas into one coming up with this modernised action, western, comedy which is set in a cafe and it is about two people wanting to purchase the last coffee but it's shot in the way like its a western. For example there will be extreme close ups especially of the eyes. And instead of guns we thought of the idea of having wallets to give it a naturalistic feeling. We also thought about having little elements of comedy into it to make it feel light hearted and to make it feel like an action film we'd use oversaturation and quick edits to make this mundane situation look like something larger then life.
